Christmas Eve at Good Shepherd

Come adore the newborn Christ! We welcome you to join us at one of our four different services. At every service, you can expect to hear the good news of the Word made flesh, and to be welcomed to the Lord’s Supper.

3:30 and 5:00 services

Our 3:30 service is planned with families with young children in mind. Children serve as worship leaders in this service, leading us in prayer and praise in language more accessible to younger worshipers. The pastor offers a children’s message, with an appearance from Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus. Communion is served, and all are welcome to the table.

The 5:00 service is also led by children, with language that’s a little more grown up. The children’s message is still visited by the Holy Family, and the feast of joy at the Lord’s Table is open to everyone. As darkness falls, we light candles and sing “Silent Night” at the close of our worship.

7:30 and 10:30 services

The 7:30 service is worship full of beloved carols, communion, and candlelight. The pastor preaches a Christmas sermon, and Lord’s Supper is open to everyone. This is usually one of our larger services; please plan to arrive early!

The 10:30 service is our festival service. A brass band ushers us into the service with triumphal joy, and we sing carols, light candles, and keep the feast in a spirit of rejoicing. We kneel at the rail for communion, and by the time worship ends, it is indeed Christmas Day!

We welcome guests on Christmas Eve with special gratitude that you choose to spend this holy night at Good Shepherd. Our prayer is that every person who comes through our doors encounters the newborn Christ through worship with us.
