3rd Tuesday in Lent
How and why are you helping Good Shepherd pass along the faith to others?
A favorite passage from the Psalms has been one of the guiding principles throughout my life – “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” Simply stated, there is a joy of being part of a church family and willingness to do what God has asked of me. My desire is to help everyone find a way to experience the same joy of worship and service within Good Shepherd and the larger community. The reward in all of this is a much deeper faith and greater love for those around me.
God has blessed me with many gifts and I have a deep sense of gratification to him to share those gifts with others. Where I can contribute musically, I sing or play bells. Where I can educate, I volunteer to teach. Where I can lead, I serve on committees or council.
What gifts has God given to you that can be shared with others at Good Shepherd? Can you teach? Are you musical? Can you lead? Are you willing to serve? Almost every Sunday we hear the words, “We offer with joy and thanksgiving what you have first given us – ourselves, our time, and our possessions, signs of your gracious love.” Let us joyfully consider all the ways in which we can grow in faith at Good Shepherd in response to the love our Savior has shown to us.
Dear God, I am thankful that you have blessed us with the community of faithful at Good Shepherd. I am grateful for all the gifts you have provided to me and ask you to guide me in ways that I might better serve you in growing my faith and those around me. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Take time to walk with friends or family today. Put a coin in your bank, for every God Sighting.
