Children age 3-grade 3 sing songs in their Sunday School openings, and share them occasionally at the 9:00 or 10:45 service. They are led by Jen Lentz at the 9:00 Sunday School, and Elizabeth Wig at the 10:45 Sunday School. John Arnold accompanies both groups.
Children in kindergarten through elementary school are welcome to sing in this choir. They often sing at the 9:00 service on Children in Church Sundays, which are scheduled on Sundays when schools have a Monday holiday. They are led by Sue Johnson and Julie Schwingbeck. Bruce Grams or Bess Sproul accompanies them.
Lively and talented, this group, both boys and girls, welcomes any youth 5th grade and older. They sing in harmony, often introducing songs from around the world. After a quick supper at 5:30, they sing for a half hour before heading to Midweek Bible class, Confirmation class, or volunteer activities. During Lent, they help lead Holden Evening Prayer, a beautiful vespers setting, at our Wednesday Lenten services. Bess Sproul directs the group, assisted by Alex Albers.
Children grades 4-8 learn to play our beautiful Malmark Handchimes. They play for our Children’s Christmas Pageant, for Palm Sunday, and for Children’s Sunday in June. Jen Lentz directs this group, assisted by Barbara Shumaker.
