4th Tuesday in Lent
Why do you stay and continue to participate in Good Shepherd?
This is an easy one for me to answer. Here goes: Because it makes me feel good. That’s it. Plain and simple. I love how I feel when I’m at church and after I leave; peaceful, comforted, like everything is going to be okay. It provides me with a feeling of roots and security that can’t be beat. I can think and be quiet and contemplative which I appreciate. I love to sing the hymns I’ve known forever and say the prayers that I learned as a child. That familiarity and connection with my past history makes me happy. The people I know there are terrific, the fellowship is wonderful, the programs and events are outstanding and varied, but its worship that always draws me there and keeps bringing me back.
Dear Lord, Thank you for wonderful churches like Good Shepherd that make us feel good. We pray that everyone finds a place that makes them feel safe, grounded and happy. In Jesus name we pray, Amen
