I’m Suzanne Hopkins Gillam, Good Shepherd’s Christian Education Director. I hail from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, arriving in Massachusetts for my senior year in high school when my Dad was transferred here. I met my husband, Art, at UMass and we settled in his hometown of Hopkinton after we married in 1975. We have one daughter, Amy, who is a technology teacher in New Hampshire, a wonderful photographer, and a lover of everything APPLE. Art is the owner of Wayside Antiques in Marlborough. We have two cats, Mr. Squeakers and Missy, and two grandkitties, Gibbs and Abby.
For thirty-five years, I was involved in public education as a teacher and administrator with Walpole Public Schools. I was retired for one day in July 2002 before joining GSLC’s staff as their first CED. I have also been associated with Camp Calumet Lutheran since 1965 as a counselor, program director, outdoor education teacher, developer of the C.I.T. program and board member.
Over the past eight years here in Westborough, I have worked with dedicated and enthusiastic teachers, parents and youth in developing Christian education programs for pre-schoolers thru adults. Learning is lifelong and alive at Good Shepherd. I hope you’ll find time to join in the fun, fellowship and learning experiences by signing on as a learner or a leader or both.
