Caryn Francese, Parish Secretary

Hi,

Welcome, I am Caryn Francese, parish secretary here at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  I started coming to Good Shepherd in January 2007 with my two sons Dominic and Michael.  I was raised Roman Catholic by a Roman Catholic father and a Lutheran mother.  My boys and I completely fell in love with everything about Good Shepherd, especially the people who welcomed us into this congregation.  We became members in November of 2007 and my boys love Sunday School and all the activities Good Shepherd offers; this has truly become a spiritual home for the three of us.

I grew up in Pittsfield, MA and came to Boston in 1986 to attend Simmons College where I earned a B.A. in French.  I have lived in Boston, Washington DC and now I reside in South Grafton, MA. I also was lucky to have had the opportunity to spend my junior year abroad in Nantes, France; yes I speak fluent French albeit a bit rusty due to the lack of practice.  So if you speak French come see me I’d love to talk with you.

In August of 2008 I was hired as parish secretary and my love for Good Shepherd and the people who make up the membership and staff grows daily.  Being parish secretary I am blessed because I have been able to meet most all of the congregants.  So many people enjoy being here daily that I have a blossoming group of volunteers who come to the office and are always asking, “What can I do?”

I believe the greatest gift I have received by being here, as parish secretary, is I am seeing the children who enjoy learning about God’s grace and the ways in which we as God’s children can share that grace with the world.  From the babies to the college students, I see everyday how God influences our lives and as a mother with children in this church I am overwhelmed by the caring and leading by example the older children show to the younger ones.

Please stop into the office whenever you are in the neighborhood come and say Hi.  I would love to meet you, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with you and share my love of Good Shepherd.
