Confirmation Final Project (7th graders)

GSLC Confirmation 2010

Lord’s Prayer Project

This project is for 7th graders in Faith Inkubators Confirmation.

You are to choose a section of the Lord’s Prayer (what we have studied this year).  Feel free to use the blue Lutheran Handbook for help in reviewing the different sections of the Lord’s Prayer.  In order to choose, consider which part of the prayer means the most to you, or which part helps you feel closest to God.

You are to think about what this section of the prayer means to you.  Consider how it communicates God’s love, grace, and mercy.  Think about how it relates to your different life experiences and your faith.  Think about the service or fellowship events we have done this year.  Also, think about Martin Luther’s explanation of the part of the prayer you have chosen (also found in the blue Lutheran Handbook).

Then, your assignment is to communicate why you have chosen this portion of the Lord’s Prayer, and what it means to you and your faith in a creative way.

Some ideas that might help include:

  • With a camera, you could take pictures that show what this part of the prayer means to you, and put them on posterboard or some kind of display.
  • Using a video camera, you could take a video showing what your chosen portion of the Lord’s Prayer means to you.  Make sure you will have some way to show it (videocamera, laptop, etc.)
  • You could create a piece of art, either through painting, collage, drawing, sculpture, etc. that shows what your chosen portion means to you.
  • Or come up with your own idea to communicate what your this part of the Lord’s Prayer means to you.  Be creative!!

Be sure to talk to your guide or Pastor Jeff as you are developing your ideas.

Make sure you will be able to explain how your pictures/video/art/etc. shows what this portion of the Lord’s Prayer means to you.

A draft / basic idea of what you plan to do for this project is due in class on Wednesday March 17th.

Then, be prepared to present your completed project at our last class on Wednesday April 14th.
