Good Shepherd says good-bye to Pastor Eric Wefald

On Sunday May 18, 2008, Pastor Eric said his good-byes during the 3 services and we said our good-byes to him during the celebration and "roasting" following services. There were many tears, much laughter, and multitudes of gifts as we wished him godspeed in his journey to explore his music career. He and his family were with us for 12 years (almost 12 years!) and his creativity, musicality and inspiration will be missed. Stay tuned for pictures!

Good Shepherd says good-bye to Anneliese Mieth upon her retirement

Anneliese retired in May 2008 after faithfully serving our congregation as secretary for five years beginning in March 2003. Her kind nature, warm smile and wonderful skills will be greatly missed.

Good Shepherd Extends our Sympathy to the Bergemann Family

OUR SYMPATHY is extended to Dick and Bethany Bergemann and all their family and friends upon the death of Carolyn, our beloved secretary. We pray that God’s comfort and peace will be with the Bergemann Family in their time of loss.

About Parish Nursing

Kristen McCordick RN, BSN was installed as the parish nurse at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Westborough on Sunday January 13, 2008.

Kristen graduated from the UMass-Lowell nursing program in 1987 and took the parish nurse preparation course at Anna Maria College last fall. She was commissioned as a parish nurse in December. Parish nursing was first envisioned in the early 80’s by the Reverend Granger Westberg, a Lutheran pastor in Chicago, Illinois.

Parish nurses combine health and religion to promote the physical and spiritual well-being of a faith community. The parish nurse has five main roles; health educator, personal health counselor, referral agent, advocate/facilitator and integrator of faith and health.

For more information, please visit the International Parish Nurse Resource Center at ipnrc.parishnurses.org.
