Good Shepherd Lutheran is an active growing congregation in a growing community. We provide many opportunities for worship, Bible study, mutual support, and loving service. We have a strong Sunday School program and active ministry with youth. We are eager to help one another unite in friendship and grow in commitment to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

About Parish Nursing

Kristen McCordick RN, BSN was installed as the parish nurse at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Westborough on Sunday January 13, 2008.

Kristen graduated from the UMass-Lowell nursing program in 1987 and took the parish nurse preparation course at Anna Maria College last fall. She was commissioned as a parish nurse in December. Parish nursing was first envisioned in the early 80’s by the Reverend Granger Westberg, a Lutheran pastor in Chicago, Illinois.

Parish nurses combine health and religion to promote the physical and spiritual well-being of a faith community. The parish nurse has five main roles; health educator, personal health counselor, referral agent, advocate/facilitator and integrator of faith and health.

For more information, please visit the International Parish Nurse Resource Center at ipnrc.parishnurses.org.

Good Shepherd Calls Pastor Baines

On October 29th, 2006 the congregation voted to call Pastor Baines as Senior Pastor. She has completed her ministry as the Senior Pastor at Saint James Lutheran Church in Concord, North Carolina. She has served as Assistant to the Bishop in the Florida-Bahamas Synod. The theme of her doctoral project was "Parenting as a Means of Grace." We are grateful to our Call committee, Council and to all who worked to make such a channel for God's grace in this community. We also want to thank Pastor Schulhaus, who did a wonderful job of leading us through the interim process, and The Reverend Katheryn Keene was our transition Pastor the last few months of 2006. Pastor Baines first Sunday with us was January 14, 2007; her installation was on March 11th.
